UPCOMING EVENTS AND OTHER BITS AND BOBS

 

Hello friends! Just a quick drop in to give some updates on upcoming events I’ll be attending!

First up! I’ll be attending Spa-Con in Hot Springs, Arkansas this weekend, September 20-22. One of my favorite events to work, and this year I did a the poster and t-shirt art for the event. Had a load of fun making it, and won’t lie, been a little surreal to see it pop up all over. Not only will I be tabling with my comics, including that first issue of Backwood Folk, I’ll also be hosting a panel on Sunday September 22 at 1 PM. It’s called THESE GHOST TOWNS ARE FULL and will be a drawing demonstration on Ozarks Haints and Monsters. Should be a lot of fun.

The following weekend on Saturday September 28 I’ll be at Shire Fest in West Fork, Arkansas. This is a wonderful festival in Northwest Arkansas put together by the fine folks at Shire Post Mint. Easily one of the coolest establishments in the region. They’re a family run coining operation that makes all kinds of cool coins of their own designs and from all kinds of fantasy films and books. I also had the pleasure of illustrating a children’s book authored by their founder, Tom Maringer. It’s called Otterhead and it’s available from their store! A haunting little story of a little girl in a far future world who refuses to accept that the otters have all gone away. She means to fix it even if it breaks the rules of time and space. One of those projects where every page was a blast to draw.

Happy to announce another location for Northwest Arkansas locals to grab the book! Backwood Folk is available from Pearl’s Books on the downtown square of Fayetteville, Arkansas. Lovely bookstore that’s pretty quickly become a town institution all its own.
