The Lost Comfort General Store and Cabin Rental is a famed Po’Dunk business and has served the community and its visitors for over three decades. It was founded in 1987 by an enterprising back to lander named Tabitha Strom. It stayed in her hands until her passing in 2020. Lost Comfort would stay in the family as her son Bertrum took the reigns of the store.
It sells all means of goods and souvenirs for tourists and locals alike. From canned goods to crafts from local artisans, the Lost Comfort has it all (within reason) The Lost Comfort even hosts visitors, offering up any of its three gorgeous cabins for rental. They even offer an extended stay rental for those who take any offers to “stick around and stay awhile.”
The Lost Comfort has numerous lodging options. Available for both nightly and extended stays. View our available options and consider staying while. DiDi Reyes of Lost Comfort’s bookings assures you that none are cursed.
The Pink Eye Research Center was an addition made to the Lost Comfort General Store after Bertrum Strom took over in 2020.
It is a dedicated archive and museum for Po’Dunk’s regional cryptid, The Pink Eye. A Bigfoot like creature that inspired a mildly known film series as well as dedicated tv specials in the seventies. A witness himself, Bertrum wanted to bring further attention to the creature. Maybe through the Pink Eye Research Center we can finally solve the mystery of the Pink Eye.
It had nothing to do with recovery lost tourism dollars and the growing popularity of cryptids across America. Sometimes coincidences happen. Everyone at the Lost Comfort General store swears. Especially Skip Solomon, who mans the front desk.
“The Community Center was where you went for comfort, but the Lost Comfort is where you went for news” is a common sentiment among Po’Dunk locals. The General Store is often host to the discourse and going abouts of the community. If someone gets engaged, or passes on, you hear it at the Lost Comfort first. Sometimes talking with noted gossips or sometimes by peeking at the bulletin board on the front of the store. We know also offer an online bulletin board, bringing Po’Dunk into the twentieth century (We understand others have happened since. We’re working on it)
